The story of our 38th president, Gerald R. Ford, is extraordinarily unique in our country's history, as circumstances meant that he is the only president, to date, to have never been elected. The Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum is a spectacular showcase of his life, his rise to politics, and how he became our president. His one-of-a-kind story is fabulously... More

Despite his relatively brief presidency, Gerald Ford led an interesting a colorful life, spanning early college football, WWII, 25 years in Congress and unprecedented turmoil in the nation's highest office. These periods are covered in a lot of detail with good exhibits. The former president and First Lady are buried on the grounds. Definitely worth a couple of hours. Lovely... More

Having traveled to several presidential libraries, this one ranks high. First it is a beautiful building on the banks of the Grand River. impressive lobby with a piece from the Berlin wall. Upstairs you will walk through Jerry Ford's life and career. There are several short films that move you through the major turning points of Ford's career. Well thought... More

Great place to take the family and look around. Not to expensive. Takes around 1 or 2 gours to look around and explore everything they have to offer. Nice handicapp accommodations and close to nearby hotels and great restaurants.

The state of the art displays and exhibits are very interactive. There are atleast four movie scrolls to sit, relax and watch. How many people knew Ford was lucky to be alive? They have the gun that was meant for him. The grounds are also very nice and the fointain is a beauty when they get it going for the... More

My son and I went to the museum not expecting much. And wow, were we wrong. It was filled with amazing pictures from the 1940's to current day. I just moved to the area and it was an educational Grand Rapids history lesson. The Ford family made many contributions to the area and were very well loved.

I had a bit of a problem accessing the museum parking initially, as my GPS led to an entrance that was closed (though clearly marked as part of the museum). After circling the block I managed to find the proper entrance. The museum is housed in beautiful surroundings and the displays inside are detailed and attractive. It's well worth a... More

In Grand Rapids for the weekend. My husband loves this sort of thing. I have to say this was a wonderful experience. This museum was so inviting and so informative. I really enjoyed it as well. Worth the visit.

When one thinks of Gerry Ford, one thinks of Chevy Chase and a bumbler -- I honestly had few expectations of this museum. I was quite pleasantly surprised. He may not have done much as president, but he served in interesting and tumultuous times, which this museum reflects quite well. Also a great deal about his background and upbringing --... More
