This Museum is rather unique because it is a two part museum, one portion is indoors and the other is outdoors. You see they have the Pere Marquette train similar to the train seen in Polar Express which is outdoors and accessible all year long. They also have a portion of the Museum indoors which is the old train depot... More

Thank you so much for your kind review!! The city does a beautiful job maintaining the Pere Marquette 1223 and we are so fortunate to partner with them on our Ice Cream Social! Thank you so much for including that event in your review. We hope you can visit again soon! More

This is a nice extra in Grand Haven. It's on Harbor Dr. on your way in/out to pier, beaches, Grand Haven shops, etc., etc. There are lots of nice little things along Harbor Dr. This one always gets nice reviews for their volunteers.....it's a free museum but kids will be enchanted with the train itself. Unfortunately, they believe they need... More

Took several photos here and walked around to read about the train. Enjoyed our time here. Nice trail goes all the way around the train.

Small informative transportation museum describing travel and rescue on Lake Michigan. Admission is free, even though donations are appreciated. Friendly and knowledgeable college student working the front desk.

Beautiful, old, restored steam locomotive and railroad cars. Located near an old coal and water fueling station.

Very nice but small museum. It was hard for the younger children not to touch the many displays. It is FREE to go into and enjoy. A nice way to get out of the sun for a few minutes.

Thank you so much for visiting, and for your kind review! Did you know that the Depot Museum is one of two museum facilities we have within two blocks? The other, our Akeley building, is a little larger, and more hands on- but still FREE! I hope you can come again. More

Thank you so much for this kind review! We love old trains too. If you would like to tour the train, we have a once-a-year ice cream social where the train is open for tours! This year (2016) we will host it August 18. I hope we see you there! More

The train depot is a great place to se a real steam engine. There is an ice cream social in August when you can actually tour the train.
