About
Michigan Heroes Museum is dedicated to Honoring, Respecting, and Remembering the memories of people from Michigan who heeded the call to military service during America's seven foreign wars. Located in Frankenmuth, the museum was started in order to tell the stories of servicemen and women from around the state and it now contains over 850 full collections of personal artifacts and stories of our wartime heroes. In fact, Michigan Heroes Museum has gathered so many stories that it is the largest museum of its kind throughout the country and still growing. Visitors to Michigan Heroes Museum can expect to be overwhelmed by the stories of sacrifice, bravery, and valor that they will find there as the museum strives to Honor, Respect and Remember those who have served in our nations military and our space programs.

Excellent Museum
Nov 2020
This museum does not have military vehicles or planes but rather has displays to honor Michigan men and women who served their country in the military. Displays cover the Spanish American war to all the conflicts after including the war on terror. There is a section on NASA which is interesting. Displays are well done and focus on individuals in the military. There are many weapons and military models to see. This museum explains the human aspect of war. The curator there explained things well and answered all our questions. A very well done museum!

A Dont Miss Experience
Sep 2020
Ive been to Frankenmuth twice and both times Ive made it a point to visit the Michigan Heroes Museum (Military And Space). With a reasonable entry price you wont regret paying, you will really be amazed & overwhelmed. All the displays contain pictures, uniforms, weapons, and other items needed and used by soldiers & sailors for the periods, campaigns & battles. I was really surprised at the quality and cleanliness of everything displayed. Lots of official materials to read and many videos to watch. And dont miss all the military models above all the displays! A wonderful tribute to the men & women of Michigan who have served and died for the freedom of America and the world. A honest to goodness tribute to the heroes of everything from the Spanish - American War to the War on Terrorism. And a fantastic tribute display section to all the heroes of America's Space Program NASA. I only spent one hour there, but you can easily spend two. I wish I had taken my grandsons with me, its a museum that is a must see for kids learning about Michigan & America!! I will visit the museum again next time in Frankenmuth. Its a must see!! :)

My wife and I stopped by after shopping at the Christmas place, (my reward for going shopping with her). I was not sure what to expect. I have been to a few small memorials and museums and was very impressed with this facility. The location is easily accessible and provides ample parking. We went on a Saturday morning around 10AM. There wasn't many people visiting so spacing was not an issue. The museum was well designed and the attendant (Mike I believe) was very helpful and knowledgeable. The displays were clean and bright. The information was detailed but not overwhelming. I found it interesting that they focused on individuals not events. There were a few videos playing and plenty of tools, uniforms and weapons to see. We spent about 2 hours which was about all my wife could take, lol. That was pleasant of time to take it all in. I could have spent another 2 hours but you can easily spend less time and still feel like you seen everything.
I would consider this a must-see in Frankenmuth especially if you injoy military history or would like to show your gratitude to those who have fallen in defence of our nation.

We really enjoyed the back section dedicated to the space programs. I was surprised by how many were from Michigan. We spent most of our time here but also enjoyed the Vietnam and World War II areas. I loved the huge polar bear just inside. Entry is not expensive but we did find a groupon which was the best price.

While my wife would have enjoyed it, the Christmas shop took higher priority.
While I did enjoy an hour and a half in the Christmas store , I came here ( just a mile away ) for another 2 hrs while my wife continued to shop. I could have spent all day here.
I have been in a lot of "military type" museums, but this was different as the focus was on individual men and women from Michigan and their heroic service to our country from the Spanish American War to present .

I have never been here so we decided to check it out!! What a great museum. All displays were so interesting. John was very very informative. I even found a hero from my hometown there. I will go back as the exhibits do rotate. Better go quickly while the price of admission is what it is! I think it was $8 well well worth it!

I went on a school trip here.

My school, some chaperones, and I went here on a trip to Frankenmuth. My dad came along with us. Being a veteran, he was bawling at how represented the military is at this museum. Highly recommend if you are or were a member of the military. Bring your family with you so you can show how much serving in the military means to you.
