This city is NOT as advertised. It is described as a little Barvarian town. It is not at all. This area is the only part of the city that even resembled German architecture (and it is a shopping plaza). We were there during the DOG BOWL and the people would not allow us to park and shop. They were very rude. We drove around to see the town had little else to offer and went back to our hotel and drove home. Miserable trip. They sell you Hallmark and give you something very different. There are 4 or 5 snall towns by me that have more shopping and more character than Frankenmuth. Worst vacation ever.

This place has a good variety of shops, dessert bars, and restaurants to chose from. The shops are more commercial, meaning that they are not "Bavarian" in nature. For example there is a store that sells Pokemon cards and gaming items. Inside the center of the shops there is a cafeteria like atmosphere, complete with dining chairs and an arcade area as well. The landscape is easy to navigate and the main bridge leads to downtown Frankenmuth which has less commercialized shops with Zehnders and the Bavarian Inn as the main attraction restaurants. There is ample amount of parking behind these shops and I would suggest parking here, instead of trying to find parking downtown. Overall these shops are fun to look through but not a true Bavarian experience.

So many shops! I wish we would have had more time. Maybe it is a good thing we cut our visit short because I probably would have spent too much money. Tons of different shops to see. Everyone was very friendly, and it had a great atmosphere. Very beautiful area.

Everything was very nice reasonably priced the Honey shop has lots of free samples so you can taste test before buying. Other shops have free samples of chocolate covered cherries, cherry salsa. Lots to choose from.

If you’re visiting Frankenmuth, this is a good place to stop and do a little shopping. It’s also a great place to get treats. We were excited that they had a pasty shop. We had never had a pasty before, so we definitely stopped in there. The Sugar High Bakery was our favorite place to stop for treats. They have cupcakes, macarons, gelato, etc.. they even have treats for your puppy! The Chocolate Haus was another spot we stopped for dessert. They have fudge and ice cream along with other tasty treats. Enchanted Forest has fairies and gnomes and dragons along with many other “fantasy“ things.
There is also the mirror maze. It’s $10 and it takes you about five minutes to go through it but our granddaughter loved it. All of these shops and more will help you fill a couple hours in the day.

So many small specialty shops within the River Place are exciting to browse and shop and there are plenty of benches or chairs throughout the complex as one does a lot of walking. its a fun place and can be expensive for some tastes but between the architecture, well maintained landscaping , variety of shops and the people who work in them are knowledgable and friendly. the whole amazing cultural experience here makes for an interesting and enjoyable time. like most attractions, you cant see everything in a day but its fun trying so we're looking forward to attending one of the many large Frankenmuth festivals that these small shops support in the park every year

This was a really cute area, think outdoor mall with a touristy-Frankenmuth theme. Lots of different stores, clothes, candy, bakeries, books, pet stuff, etc. It was kind of crowded though, I’d recommend going during the week if you can. The only negative was that I was on a knee-roller cart and it was not easy getting around as a lot of the walkways are a cobblestone type design and there are some little hills. (I didn’t realize that going in)...Lots to see here! Worth checking out.

Perfect for a girl's weekend away to shop, explore and just see Christmas. The shops were all open late Friday and Saturday night. The cherry place with the cherry wine samplings and the dried cherries was the best! The ambience and setting made you feel like you were walking the cobblestone paths of Europe.

I love all of the different shops. Definitely a must if you plan on visiting Frankenmuth, MI!! The people are nice, great deals and best of all most shops are pet friendly!! Just look for the paw print sticker in the window. We absolutely love coming a few time each year to see the different events and to just walk around, shop and try out the different eatery options.

I stayed at Bavarian Inn, when I checked in they gave me a coupon booklet. Had great deals everywhere! I recommend staying at Bavarian Inn or Zehnders. Bavarian Inn has great room rates and a giant arcade if you have kids. Zehnders has a huge water park and has stay and play rates with some breakfast vouchers. Love them!
