This is one of the most beautiful churches I have ever visited, and I have been to Paris and Rome! It has some of the most beautiful stained glass windows with text in French from its early history as a French parish and history of father Gabriel Richard. The ceiling in robin's egg blue with gold leaf fleur du lis... More

Rich in history and beautifully constructed. Churches usually have some of the most exquisite art work in terms of woodwork, stain glass, statuary and sculptures.

You get a taste of Detroit's French roots when you visit Ste. Anne de Detroit. The tomb of Fr. Gabriel Richard is here as well, who was one of the founders of University of Michigan.

Almost an overwhelming presence is felt just as I walked into the main foyer. Its old style, plain yet beautiful. Once you take in the history and sanctity of the church, it is very relaxing, comforting and peacefull. Perfect place to come, sit, contemplae, think and pray.
