It's one thing to take a drive from Detroit to Winsdor, or vice versa...but it's an entirely different experience to RUN underwater, through the tunnel! The Detroit Windsor marathon and half marathon are the only events that close the tunnel to vehicle traffic so thousands...More

No matter what side of the boarder you are on this is a wonderful asset to both the city of windsor and detroit! I use the tunnel daily it is all around a much more enjoyable crossing that the ambassador bridge!

Detroit is so handy and the tunnel is unique. Kids look for the flags to see when they are in the other country. Plus you end up in the heart of either city.

This is a much easier way to and from Canada than the Ambassader Bridge. Less traffic and less waiting, plus the drop off point at each end is better than the bridge.

We paid $9.00 Canadian for a return trip from Windsor, Ontario to Detroit, Michigan to attend a Detroit Lions football game. The special event bus leaves 2 1/2 before the event but there are regular buses to Detroit that let you off a few blocks...More

I took bus from Rose Park Transit to Windsor Transit and return several times. They were cheaper than taxi. They have nice bus and driver there. I didn't have problem with it. It will be nice if they stop at Via Rail station at Windsor.

This tunnel connects Detroit and Windsor at the center of these great cities. An engineering masterpiece, fresh air circulates continuously to ensure the exhaust fumes from vehicles aren't an issue, even on those times when the tunnel traffic is at a standstill (not often). Both...More

Always a quick drive to Windsor from Detroit. I'd rather fly into Detroit and drive into Windsor than flying into windsor

I don't see why not, buses go through many times a day. Now, do be aware that you will have to go through the Canadian checkpoint - you may be asked many more questions and require additional paperwork.

I will in Detroit for a Friday night Red Wings game, and wanted to go to Windsor for a couple hours before the game. Is the tunnel particularly busy on Friday nights (along with a game), and if so, how much time should I give myself to get back to Detroit? The game is at 7:30PM, so my goal was to leave Windsor no later than 5:00PM. We'll be parking in the Ren Cen parking garage and taking the people mover over to Joe Louis.

Allow plenty of time and be sure you have passports in order. If you get pulled over for inspection it will take even longer. Have a great time!

I am staying in Windsor at Caesars and would like to take the Tunnel Bus to downtown Detroit casino. Where would I get on the bus and does it stop close to any of the casinos in Detroit ?

Best of my knowledge, no. Tunnel Bus will take you / drop you off at the Cobo Center. Casino possibilities - Motor City Casino or the Greektown Casino - can be reached by a short taxi ride.
