Spending my college years in CCS, I wouldn't leave Detroit without paying a visit there. It's across from Detroit Institute of Arts and there are some really interesting buildings there, plus students' artwork to see.

check it out, they offer free tours to observe the making of Shinola Watches. The hallways offer a wonderful display of local artists from the school

Across from the Detroit Institute of Arts, on the campus of the College for Creative Studies, is where you'll find the Josephine Ford Sculpture Garden. This small sculpture garden seems to be one of those hidden treasures only the faculty and students of the school know about. There's about a dozen sculptures, including one by Alexander Calder. It's a great... More

The is an interesting part of Detroit's history. The original design studios of General Motors, now used as a teaching facility. Lots of history here! The lobby display is most interesting. Tours are available, I believe.

I went to college here and I got my BFA in Photography. It was a wonderful experience and I am grateful I was able to attend this fantastic school.

I think the school itself might be a bit pricey for students without a lot of money. My daughter attended CCS for a year, waiting to get into SCAD in Savannah. Even with room and board, SCAD was a better value and layout. CCS isn't in the best neighborhood, and the girls in her room (6 in a room) were... More

I have now gone to two years of the Art Exhibit and I look forward to it every year. I love all the different styles and layers and textures to all of the art pieces and what they represent. Not sure how I came across this but so glad I did!

Sitting behind The Detroit Institute of Arts on the College for Creative Studies campus is the lovely Josephine Ford Sculpture Garden, named for the only grand daughter of Henry Ford. Here you'll find around a dozen sculptures from a number of different artists, arranged throughout the gardens. My favorite pieces were by Etienne Martin, Alexander Calder, Raymond Duchamp-Villon and Beverly... More
