I have crossed this bridge so may times over the years ,unfortunately it always looks the same ,and you only have 2 choices of crossing from Windsor to Detroit, the bridge or the tunnel, the bridge is always being worked on but never seems to be finished, the roadway on both sides of the bridge are in a very poor state of repair,the... I ham crossing this bridge very often between the USA and Canada. The view from the bridge is wonderful. It is a very convenient way to cross, it is for the most time quick and traffic flows pretty well. Now the bridge is going thru some work of renovation, it is about time!!! It is still a very beautiful bridge!

We took the tunnel over to Winsdor, so we thought we'd take the bridge back, for the views of the Detroit skyline and Detroit River views. So, that part was was accomplished. Great views, especially of the river. The road and rail conditions are atrocious. Holes, poor patching, poor orange cone placement, narrow lanes/closed lanes. Guardrails look like they could... The only reason to choose this over the tunnel crossing is the gas and the duty free. Duty free on the Detroit side was actually alright -- the bargain corner actually has great deals on almost everything shown there, if you're interested in shopping. Otherwise, I would take the tunnel -- even the views on the bridge aren't that spectacular.

Honestly the poorest excuse of an international crossing I've ever seen. Trucks rule the world, and get to do whatever they want because Moroun owns most of the trucking companies, tolls are ridiculously high, and the state of it is atrocious.

The ambassador bridge is under perpetual construction. Every time we go at least 2 lanes are closed. The 1920's era safety rails have completely rusted through, the bridge surface is rough. Toll is high, currently $5 US/ $6.25 CAD. On the good side it is the usually the fastest way to get to 401 or EC Row expressway. The Detroit... More

We use the Ambassador Bridge frequently to travel to the U.S. on our shopping trips to Michigan. Easy access with speedy crossing and friendly service with all our crossings.

The map created by Tripadvisor was right on and worked out spectacularly. It took exactly as many hours it said it would and it guided me in the shortest manner as possible. In the Detroit side we visited the world headquarters of GM and some watercraft manufacturer. Crossing the bridge we went through the Canadian and US Customs. They were... More
