I had some time to kill between meetings and wanted to the GM Renaissance Center. I only shot pictures from outside. I was a bit cautious to go near the entrance as some shifty looking characters were glaring down at tourist. Homeless sleeping on the sidewalks. It's not the ghetto but the security could beef up its presence on outside... More

While in Detroit, booking 5 rooms for our crew for a very important weekend, I was assured through reservations that everything was in the computer and was read back off to me and emailed to satisfaction. BUT, upon checking in, it became a nightmare. The front desk billed our card for rooms we had not purchased and gave me the... More

The Ren Cen is a great place to stay when in downtown Detroit or at a conference/event at COBO. The Ren Cen offers classy rooms, convenient amenities, and location close to COBO. If the weather is agreeable, it's a nice walk to COBO, or take the People Mover right from Ren Cen

The first thing you see when you get to the riverfront. Towers over all of the other buildings. Glass panels surround the towers. General Motors moved their HQ there about 10 yrs ago. Still a magnificent structure with a rich history of superstars staying in the Westin hotel over the years.

I do freelance work here, and visit at least once a month. The views from offices and restaurants are great; there is one decent restaurant, the Granite City. The inside of the RenCen is ugly and is remarkable for the quantity of wasted space it contains.

I like how they have opened new stores, new restaurants and how it's used for the community and business

Even if you're just visiting to walk around the area, you have to go inside the Renaissance Center to see a great example of modern architecture. Plus there's plenty of shops open all week if you want to do some shopping or grab a bite to eat.

This place is huge. It took me a good day to orient myself around the place. Lots of curves and escalators in many different directions. The architecture is very grand on the outside and a unique design on the inside. There are many food options. We went there on the weekend and there are not too places open long hrs... More

We had no idea what to expect with these buildings - you can see them from all around, and it was a lot of fun exploring the area in and around these buildings. Cars located inside the building, food courts, Starbucks, hotels - it was quite the set up. We parked or car in the garage here, and it was... More

The building is stunning, but we came to dine and would like to return to see more of the building, but we had time constraints. It has some soaring architecture. I think daytime would be best.
