What a collection of wonderful restaurants and shops! I want to try every one. We went to Xochimilco (which was cash only). The food was exceptional and was the service. We'll be back.

This is one of the few thriving commercial districts in the city with many locally owned restaurants and other stores. Worth a look-see and a chance to have some authentic non-Taco Bell Mexican food.

There are alot of good restaurants. Armandos is my favorite. Go there for lunch or dinner then leave. Nothing to see, can be very dangerous at night.

Oddly enough, so few residents in Mexicantown are actually Mexican. However, the local fare and businesses are 100% committed to retaining this local ethnic flare. If you love Mexican food (and who doesn't), you should check it out!

If visiting this area make sure you stop in at Los Galanes Restaurant. Excellent Fast food, great, friendly service and right around the corner is the bakery and bridge to Canada.
