I've lived a few miles from this place all my life and visited once or twice when I was a kid. Last year my wife and I purchased an annual pass and I'm glad we did. There is so much to see here and no way you can see it all in one visit. We've been there 3 or four... More

It not just about cars and manufacturing. There is something that will interest everyone here. Obviously there are the historic autos like the presidential limos but there are also trains, machines, planes, textiles, glassware and all sorts of interesting pieces of american history to peruse. It is big and can easily take an entire day or more depending on how... More

I went in with the wrong expectations. I thought there would be disassembled big block V8’s in display cabinet, a crashed Capri from a James Dean movie, Teladaga 500 cup winner, a RS200 or an original LeMans GT40. You know - Petrol head maddness. It is more of a curators type facility and also seems to drift away form the... More

This place was my agenda for a weekend visit despite the chill in the Michigan air at this time of the year and boy, what a place ! Being a true motor buff this place had me in awe for all of 3 hours spent at the museum. A place inaugurated by Thomas Alva Edison, the inventor of the light... More

The cafe does not offer any healthy options. It is a hot dog stand, with tables to seat at, but should find a way to get healthier options!

This museum has an extensive variety of historical artifacts, machinery, clothing, vintage automobiles and vintage trains. It even has the chair that President Abraham Lincoln was sitting in when he was assassinated and an interesting round, life-size futuristic house called the Dymaxion House that you can go in and explore. There's also the bus where Rosa Parks sat in. For... More

They changed this restaurant in it's decor..It use to be the Ritz Carlton which was beautiful and relaxing..This restaurant doesn't give that warm feeling..Very contemporary..if you like that style..No more afternoon tea..Lost the traditions..miss the Ritz Carlton alot!!!

Henry Ford was inaccurately quoted as saying History is Bunk. He silenced his critics with this amazing modern social history museum which documents the journey of America into the modern era. With a substantial educational program, activities all around for kids to test the theories displayed you can happily spend hours and hours in the wonderful place. If you have... More

After visiting this museum it definitely became a favorite. I typically am not a fan of paying for museums given all of the free museums in the DC area growing up, but I loved the Henry Ford museum. It has so many exhibits about technology, the industrial revolution, etc. I would say I'm probably a little more into cars than... More

This museum is masterful collection of American mechanical history. They have airplanes, trains, and cars. The build look like Independence Hall in Philadelphia. It is impeccably clean and organized. It is large so allow a few hours to look at everything. Admiral Byrd's plane he flew to the North Pole, the Lotus Ford F1 Race car the Jackie Cooper brought over... More
