This is a national trust property so access to the carpark is free to NT members. The stone is only a short walk away from the carpark and the path is wide and is wheelchair friendly. Access to the top of the stone is via...More

Another mystical lake district feature! A nice steady walk up from the car park leads you to a big lump of rock which seems to be precariously balanced! The view from the top of the stone is lovely. There were a couple of National Trust...More

Parked in the National Trust car park and walked to 600 meters to the stone. Bit of rain but the path is gravelled so not too muddy. Plenty of walks in this location and the stone ok if stones float your boat. Worth a visit...More

A nice way to use a few hours.. just a few minutes out of Keswick or parking is close by. It is just literally a huge boulder lying at an angle with a set of steps that take you to the top.

While I wouldn't particularly go out of my way I always make a point of visiting the stone when I'm in the area. If you haven't seen it is worth stopping.

It is just a very large rock so I don't want to over sell it but it is amazing that it fell 10000 or so years ago and lodged at this strange angle. It's a short walk from the main road, it only takes a...More

Nice and easy point to achieve, especially with kids. About 15 min slow walk in one side. A bit sleepy on the top, so have eye on your kids.
