Great beach!

Pretty views. Lots of small rocks to look for. Very nice area and wasn't very crowded. Cool peaceful area.

My husband and I reserved a campsite for 3 days over Labor Day weekend. With neither of us being new to camping, we were so excited to experience rustic camping in a park that came so highly recommended. We left a day early, and here's why: - The park is *very* close to a cement factory. Despite camping on site... More

I fell in love with this place more than 25 years ago on family camping trips. It hasn't really changed a lot since then, which in this case is a good thing. The main attraction here is nature itself: Lovely secluded beaches and forests. As a campsite, that is pretty much what you get. Rustic means rustic. But the secluded,... More

I suggest trying to get sites 33-40 they are right on the lake. I had 46 which was in the south loop and more of a wooded experience which was amazing. It is completely shaded by tall trees and you can hear the wind rustle through them all day. The site was huge could easily fit 3 tents. It is... More

My husband and I camped here mid July. We stayed at site 55 which I found to be a little too close to our neighboring sites. Not all of them were close together like this, just maybe stay away from 55 if you want more privacy. We would typically bypass a rustic campground, but lucky for us this was the... More

The beach at this state park is great. It's quiet, beautiful, clear water, gentle waves. It's also remote and secluded. You're not tripping over 100 people with their beach umbrellas. Great for looking for Petoskey Stones too. Nice sand for kids to play.

Share an afternoon with someone you care about. Or just come by yourself to jump into the cool waters of Lake Michigan. I recommend going south to the end of the road, through the entire park. It's a drive of perhaps 4-5 miles. From there, park your car, head some steps west toward the lake, and walk along the beach.... More

We wanted to check out some the State Parks in the area and found Fisherman's Island. I was not sure about this park at first because all the roads are dirt and we were making a lot of dust. At the end of the road there was a picnic area and we could see the beach was close so we... More

It looks like it would be a great place to camp with campsites right off of Lake Michigan. A few trails in the back. We didn't go to Fisherman's peninsula. Worth a stop.

The grandkids had fun looking for Petoskey stones. The weather was cold and windy but they had a great time anyway.
