An excellent tour. Not only a great way to see the houses but also learn the history of them and Charlevoix. Alex, our guide, was very friendly and informative.

I've lived in Michigan my whole life and never new this was here. View the life's work of Earl Young, a Charlevoix native and self taught architect, mason & builder. The tour guides are wonderful and the trolley transport allows you to hop out to get perfect photos. A beautiful way to explore the historic section of Charlevoix and wonder at Michigander's love for rocks. A must do in Charlevoix.

This is an open air trolley tour of the stone houses in Charlevoix, Michigan, which is a beautiful small town on the banks of Lake Michigan, south of Petoskey. The houses are very unique, constructed largely of rocks and huge boulders from Michigan. We love local interest experiences which are specific to an area, and this is one of them. Great for adults who enjoy a slow paced, interesting tour and appreciate unusual architecture. Not good for teenagers or kids, who would be bored. They allow dogs on the trolley, but the seats are small, and I'm glad we left our small dogs at home.
