Park is set in a beautiful area surrounded by woods and water but the campground restroom facilities really need updating badly. The money spent on the new so called luxury camp sites should have been used for updating what was already there first.

Beautiful trails and a well organized list to use for geocaching. I would love to spend another day here exploring. We hiked 11 miles yesterday and loved every minute. Don't miss a visit to this park.

Visited this park which now has camp sites for larger motor homes. The sites are spacious, paved and level. The park has a very nice beach, and playgrounds for the kids, and numerous hiking trails. Park location is far enough away from city lights that...More

Our favorite swim of our vacation was an impromptu dip into Sturgeon Bay just off Lake Shore Dr. Technically part of Wilderness State Park, this area does not require a pass. Busy park on the side of the road, cut through the paths in the...More

Nice park, 15 to 20 minute drive from Mackinaw City. Decent size, level sites. Miles of trails and things to do. Showers aren't the best, moderate water pressure and hot water randomly comes and goes. Trail maps lack info about parking lots and trailheads. No...More

The tent sites have a fire ring, but no grills or grates. I used my Coleman stove to cook and the fire ring was solely for atmosphere.

They do not allow dogs in the rustic cabins. The fine print in the reservation states as much. I know because I wanted to bring our dog : )
