We had a great site with lake view. Fall color was spectacular. Sites are large with great fire pit. Close to local attractions and easy access to the upper peninsula. We were able to take several day trips to the surrounding areas. Park was quiet...More
Park is set in a beautiful area surrounded by woods and water but the campground restroom facilities really need updating badly. The money spent on the new so called luxury camp sites should have been used for updating what was already there first.
My wife and I stopped here to camp not knowing what to expect. The check in process was simple and was completed quickly in the ranger station. We got a beach front site with amazing views!! The sites have fire pits in which to enjoy....More
Visited this park which now has camp sites for larger motor homes. The sites are spacious, paved and level. The park has a very nice beach, and playgrounds for the kids, and numerous hiking trails. Park location is far enough away from city lights that...More
We rented a 24-person bunkhouse for Labor Day weekend with several family members. The building was in great shape and clean, the bunk beds were very sturdy. The campsite was clean, as was the rest of the park. The beach was clean, with shallow water...More

All of the hiking trails are open to biking EXCEPT Waugoshance point and any beach areas. Basically, any established trail. There are some nice flat sections and some hilly sections. Be sure to ask a ranger and note which sections may be muddy or even underwater (the eastern section of the trails can be). I am not sure about a fishing dock for Lake MIchigan. There is a pond near the nature center where we have caught panfish and bass.
