We just completed a 3 day stay here. We used the on-line reservation system and found it to be easy and accurate. The park is located about 10 miles west of Mackinaw City which makes it a good place to stay for day trips. The...More

Our family visited Wilderness State Park the third week of June. We stayed at Station Point Cabin which was marvelous! We typically tent camp and decided to "upgrade" to a rustic cabin this year. We thoroughly appreciated staying dry in the rain and firing up...More

We rented the Nebo cabin this Memorial Day weekend and it was great. Nebo is off by itself - two miles down a gated road - you are the only ones with the key! There are miles of great trails, super fishing out on the...More

We camp every year with about 9 families and each year it's better than the year before. There's a history to this camp and especially the fishing at Waugoshance Point. The guys have a favorite spot and they could see the fish swimming around and...More

Our family has been visiting this park every October for over 40 years. Every year, we rent one of the rustic cabins in the Wilderness area at the end of the park road. We don't go because we want lots of amenities. On the contrary,...More

Nice park overall but is need of some updates. Lakeshore campgrounds are in rough shape. Restrooms are cleaned regularly but need a detailed cleaning.

First time camping in Michigan so buyer beware. Campsites are TINY and pretty much wide open. If you like sitting in a Walmart parking lot drinking beer with too many kids that do not listen to their parents, then this is for you. The park...More

The tent sites have a fire ring, but no grills or grates. I used my Coleman stove to cook and the fire ring was solely for atmosphere.

They do not allow dogs in the rustic cabins. The fine print in the reservation states as much. I know because I wanted to bring our dog : )
