Pleasantly surprised to know the US Park Service has a presence in Copper Country. The facility has been beautifully restored. The hardwood floors were very well done. The Park Service staff and volunteers were very friendly and knowledgeable.

This is a first —- we have never seen a National Park site closed, and during high season nonetheless! It would be good if this fact was better publicized.

Stopped t ask some questions about the Coppetown museum and the lad was very helpful. She not only answered my questions, but gave me some great tips on other things to see and do in Calumet.

Information about mining history in this area is very well presented. It has 3 floors, Plan on spending an hour or two. Beautiful old building as well.

It's a nice, clean place in town to get your bearings. Take a moment to learn some local history, check out the big hands on map of the Keweenaw and maybe pick up some trinkets.
