Wonderful family vacation. We used Houghton as our headquarters and toured Quincy Mines, Finlandia College, Horner Flooring, Copper Harbor Estavan Pines, Hancock, Houghton, Dollar Bay, Calumet and Isle Royale. Beautiful part of the country.
I have been going to Michigan's Keweenaw for 50 years. Calumet's entire downtown is a national park, highlighting the history of the copper mining boom. The mansions of the era are still occupied, so take a slow drive through Calumet and Laurium.

One of the most satisfying and beautiful drives in America is on M-26 between Copper Harbor and Eagle Harbor. There are many stops along the way, revealing stunning views and Lake Superior beauty. Happy trails.

You can purchase a state trail sticker that allows you to go on the DNR designated trails with any type of ORV but you cannot take anything other than a side by side or ATV on the Keweenaw ATV Club sponsored trails.
