This park was recommended as a good spot to stop on our roadtrip from Madison, WI to Grand Rapids, MI. We only intended to get out and climb a dune and be on our way but ended up staying over an hour. The beach is...More

A great place in the winter for the sledding, but this place is a hazard in the summer. Red Arrow Highway is a nightmare on the nice days, and the wait is atrocious! Alas people will go no matter the wait and the woods are...More

We took a day trip to this park simply to see the dunes. I thought it would be fun to clumb up them and run down them... I chose the largest dune and a quarter of the way up, I realized I signed up for...More

A short jaunt away for fun at the beach. The dunes are very fun to climb. The kids love it here. Beach could be relaxing but they let in a lot of unsupervised teens and LARGE families that pack into one car which make the...More

The DNRs were terrible. We had a small fire going at around 11 and had the DNR come to our site and conducted an illegal search of my car and other belongings. So if you plan on having a fire at night and even if...More

The natural beauty is everywhere, the dunes, the lake and the beach. The beast is the facilities and the staff. Three large parking lots with all access to the lake, could be hard with walking challenges, but you don't have to go over dunes, just...More

How is the Rockhunting? Are there a lot of rocks, worth taking time to go there?

There are pebbles that wash up on shore but this isn't a rock-hunter's paradise. It's a beautiful beach & dunes to climb & sunsets to see. If you want rocks go father north to Petosky or the Apostle Islands.
