I visited Higgins Armory several times as a kid growing up and recall the many suits of midieval armor on display. The fine chain link armor suits and helmets worn by knights of old were an impressive sight indeed. I lived in Europe for over...More

Higgins Armory closed in 2014. Confused as to why there is still the ability to review it. This was an incredible place when it was open, and to view the armor and other exhibits, check out the Worcester Art Museum, which received the armor when...More

Much of the armor collection was purchased by the Worcester Art Museum and may be viewed on permanent display there. Plans are afoot to utilize this unique and beautiful building.

When a family member was attending college in Worcester we learned that the Higgins Armory was going to be closing. My biggest regret is not seeing the displays before the doors were locked forever. The armory website says that the core offerings are now at...More

It has been closed and absorbed into the Worcester Art Museum (WAM) on Salisbury Street. The art museum was already worth seeing and could only benefit by the addition of this impressive display armoury.

Higgins Museum is no longer in existence. Too expensive to keep going so it was shut down. However, Worcester Art Museum accepted collection and one can see many pieces at our gem of an art museum in Worcester.

I went here back in 2012. Really glad I did now that I hear it's closed. Such a shame. Great collections of armor and weapons. A real must-see for those who have an interest in such things. From what I hear a lot of the...More

Be advised that the Higgins Armory is either closed or will be closing soon. Please call ahead to be sure. If you are interested in armor in Worcester, check the collection at the Worcester Art Museum - they got many of the pieces from Higgins.

This was an incredible private collection amassed by an individual. The building itself was worthy of note, being one of the first to be constructed of steel and glass. The architect was not to be believed so they made a test building next door. A...More

I didn't visit in 2014, I am writing this review well after the fact. I remember visiting the Higgins on a school trip and being fascinated by the unusual building from afar, passing by it. Once inside, the collection was enthralling. Decades later, I still...More
