Most important thing: Do not count on parking in Woods Hole for this ferry. You need to park in Falmouth on MA-28, north of Main St and take a shuttle down to the ferry dock. It was very confusing for us to drive from coastal Falmouth away from Woods Hole to park our car for the ferry. Plan enough time... More

Arrived early at the parking lot and we were really pleased with the way it was managed. Good shuttle service to the Ferry at Woods Hole. Sat outside on the deck and really enjoyed the ferry journey both ways. It was a lovely sunny day so great views. On arrival at MV we were a little unsure on where to... More

Even though it was fall, we picked a sunny warm day to ride out to Martha's Vineyard and back. We bought an excellent lunch at The Waterside Market and ate it top deck on the way back to Falmouth. Wonderful way to spend the day.

I cannot speak highly enough about the Steamship Authority. I often arrived earlier than my scheduled trip and I got in line and went on the next ferry. i have trouble walking so i've taken the car the last three years and have been lucky to get in the handicapped lot at Woods Hole. It is a pleasure to deal... More

On our recent, end of season, trip to Martha’s Vineyard we decided to take the car onto the ferry so we can explore the island. This was going to be our first time with a car on a ferry and I was pretty nervous about logistics and technicalities of the process. We arrived at Woods Hole about 30 minutes before... More

A quick vacation on Martha's Vineyard couldn't have started better than the boat trip to Vineyard Haven. Excellent service, great beers and very relaxing after a 2 hour journey in torrential rain from Boston. I would recommend the steamship authority ahead of the swimming option.

The ferry system is pretty easy to use but you need to know some things regarding timing. Parking at the ferry dock is very limited. A former gas station has parking for $25/day (this was in Sept) within walking distance. Street parking meters have 2 or 3 hr. time limits. Other parking is in Falmouth at a ferry parking lot... I used as a passenger only for a quick golf dat at Farmneck. Easy parking in Falmouth lot. Bus drops you right at the ferry. Loads and leaves on time. Plenty of room to stretch out and great wifi.

Our first trip on the MV Ferries was completely uneventful. Waiting lines were quicker than I expected. I can say that the food selections seemed - just adequate...
