Really good range of groomed cross-country skiing trails with a folksy little "lodge".

Celebrated our wedding anniversary in Berkshires. Planned the weekend around cross-country skiing stops. Notchview was perfect for us since we are Trustees of Reservations members and novice skiers planning to stay in Williamstown, MA. The weather and conditions cooperated. Fairly out of the way from any towns or cities but worth the ride. Good views, well groomed, interesting and varied... More

We went to Notchview for snow shoeing, but was persuaded to try croos country skiing. It was the perfect choice! We had a class with Heather - the best instructor ever - and could go by ourselves to the easiest trails. The scenery is outstanding. I highly recommend it, and look forward to coming back!

This is great place to cross country ski. They have snow when no one else has it. Fantastic views, well groomed trails. They now have a rental shop for skis and snow shoes and warm soup from the Old Creamery. Very friendly, nice little lodge. My only complaint is on busy weekends the fact that the trails are two way... More

We went on a three-hour hike through the grounds. It was very serene and there were some great backcountry trails with fresh powder. We rented snowshoes when we arrived. It was very convenient to visit as part of our trip to the Berkshires. We will definitely come back!

We cross country ski at Notchview Reservation in Windsor several times every winter. The trail system is well groomed for both skate skiing as well as traditional nordic skiing. There are two shelters out on the trails where you have take your snack and enjoy terrific views of the Berkshire hills. The staff at Notchview is always friendly and helpful... More

Today notchview was holding races so when we pulled in we were shocked at the amount of people there. However, this didn't interrupt our experience at all. Very friendly staff, helpful ski patrol on the trails, beautifully groomed trails. This sure bear spending 100 dollars for a lift ticket to a downhill mountain( which we did last weekend). Very serene... More

This place is about an hour from Amherst, MA and pretty much near nothing, but well worth the trip for great cross country skiing. Despite the fact that most of the drive was looking dismal for snow (end of Feb), as we neared Windsor, the conditions greatly improved. There is a lodge where you can rest or have a snack... More

Views along the trail are mostly wooded with no outstanding overlooks. The conditions were slightly icy, to no fault of the groomers. Would probably need more snow to make the experience better. Not sure I would revisit.

My wife and I went hiking here a little before Xmas. We were treated to a gorgeous view of Notchview. The trails were in pretty good shape. Only issue was that there was one trail not on the map, a new "bumpus bypass" trail, so we were a little confused at one point.

I went to Notchview for the first time this past Saturday. I went because I read about a learn to cross-country ski for free event they sponsored. Everything I experienced, from the parking lot & lodge to the trails was excellent. Jim, my instructor, was knowledgeable, patient and very kind. I only did one trail -- the circuit -- which...
