We attended a parkinsons fundraising walk and we’re wowed with the pavilion (great restrooms) and paths through gorgeous gardens featuring sculptures. After our early afternoon event, a rock & roll show was going to take place (locals claim it is a regular summertime happening). There is ample parking and lots to see!

The gardens and pond area are picturesque all spring and summer. There are great trails that are well marked and lead through a pine tree forest and to the river. Families can grill, people can play tennis or basketball, and kids can have fun in the play area.

I have been visiting Stanley Park for nearly 60 years! Last week I was SHOCKED to be told by a park ranger I was not allowed to take photos of my own daughter in the park without a $75.00 Photo permit. She was in a pretty dress on a Sunday evening. The park was nearly empty near the ponds. This was in no way a professional photo event - just a fun spur-of-the moment thing to do with mom and daughter. There are not any signs or information posted concerning photography. (apparently, from what I was told, you can photograph the park but not people in the park. WHAT?) I repeat this was not a professional event just a fun stop in the park on the way home. We were not using a tripod or anything fancy. Stanley Park aways was one of my favorite places to go. How could Jeffrey W. Glaze and the Board of Directors forget the founder of the park, Mr. Frank Stanley, arrived at Mount Hermon School in Northfield, Massachusetts with only a quarter, a dime and one Canadian dollar bill. All we wanted to do was have a few photos on a quiet Sunday evening in the park with my daughter in a pretty dress. Apparently Mr. Glaze and the Board of Directors wants to squeeze a photo fee out of everyone.....SHAME ON THEM. The park remains beautiful and if you plan on taking photos good luck with that. As for me I'll find another park to enjoy that welcomes life long community members without a $75 fee to take a picture. A better idea would be to provide your rangers with a donation card to hand out to non-professional picture takers. It would build good will and maybe set the park up to get a donation much larger than their demanded $75 photo ransom. Honey is better then Vinegar - you would think a place with so many flowers would know that!

Grew up across the street and now bring my granddaughters to enjoy this very beautiful spot. Safe and clean for all ages. Nice for the play scape, ducks, flowers, and enjoyable walks and events.

A nice well kept park. Great for viewing animals like birds and turtles and a fun and easy walk with a number of different trails.

I attended Westfield State College (now University) in the 1970s and the thing I liked best was walking over to the Stanley Park Duckpond. This was my first visit back since then and it was even better than I remembered.

You can now buy feed for the ducks (bring quarters) and there are more geese (I only remember swans and ducks). The koi fish also follow you around begging for food.

I could have spent all day there.

We decided to take our dog for a walk in Stanley Park it was my first time visiting. What a beautiful park!! The pond area was my favorite with the fish and ducks. The park is very well maintained right down to the restrooms. Unfortunately threatening weather shorten our visit I can certainly see ourselves visiting again!!

The park is filled with the most beautiful flowers. A walk down to the pond is wonderful with the water wheel to view. There is a pavillion and several water fountains. Also a picnic area. A great place to visit for the whole family old and young.
