This lighthouse is a beautiful place to stop and see. The light had been moved closer to the shore as erosion was endangering it from falling into the sea. But you can stand on a deck where the light originally stood and look out over...More

This currently active lighthouse is the oldest and tallest in Cape Cod. It was first built in 1797. In 1857, the current 66 feet structure was built and installed with a first order Fresnel lens. The lighthouse was moved about 450 feet in 1996 because...More

The Highland Light, also known as the Cape Cod Light is slightly off the beaten path, but a worthwhile visit if you have the time. It was the first light erected on Cape Cod in 1797. In 1996 the light was moved 450 feet to...More

Well worth taking the guided tour. The guides are informative and personable! Not a bad climb to the top and the views are beautiful.

Located next to the oldest golf course in the USA! Historical location on the outer Cape. Due to erosion, lighthouse moved back 450 feet from original location. Film inside the lighthouse store shows how they made it happen.

The lighthouse was moved about 20 years ago, and you'll learn all about that. But the best part is the climb to the top and the awesome views. We could see clear across the bay to Plymouth, Great fun.

Original location was surveyed by George Washington when he was a young man. There is lots of history here and at the Truro historical museum nearby. A wonderful scenic place to visit.

We didn't do the tour (didn't feel it was worth paying for) but the structure and grounds were nice. I don't know that I would go out of my way to stop in but we were driving by so we decided to stop. If you...More

Short tour that ends with a climb up steep, narrow steps to the top and a wonderful view. Steps are not for extra large people or those who have trouble walking. Steps give an idea of the difficulties of lighthouse keepers.
