We chose this place as a night time attraction being on vacation in the Boston area about a week ago. We were very disappointed in this establishment. As "Zoo lights" starts at 5pm (Already dark in Stoneham at this time in December), none of the animal cages have lights in them, besides the bird visitations. So we basically saw basic... More

Had an amazing experience here at this zoo! My husband and I love it and are planning to come back! It is great for couples and families. Personnels and assistants are very friendly and they will answer any question you have about the animals and love that all the animals have names and are very well cared! I remember "Hollie"... Pros: it's small! The exhibits are pretty small so you have a good chance of seeing the animals up close...or pretty close. The jaguar is unbelievably beautiful and so close to the viewing area! The otters were fantastic, as were the monkeys... My kids could walk around without getting completely exhausted, they enjoyed the small rides and playground. (train $3... More

Made my first visit here and I feel a bit restricted by the overall ratings. I haven't been to a lot of zoos and my "average" rating may change if I've been to more. I don't feel like Stone Zoo is Very good or Excellent, but I don't I feel an Average rating does it justice. It represents my best... More

Been going to the Stone Zoo for many years, and for a while it was not doing so good. Over the past few years it seems to have been coming back and getting much better. Lots of great animals to look at and they have some fun events going on at times where you can get some great information about... More

I like to go when there is tons of people because that's what makes the place more fun to see animals

I had last been there over 30 yrs. ago and been wanting for a long time to see how it had changed. We were pleasantly surprised. As far as zoos go the park doesn't cover much area, but they very effectively use what space they do have. As a person who has had both live animal and museum experience in... More

We really enjoyed this zoo. Great size, & great animals. The Bear and Leopard exhibit were our favorites. They were laying right against the glass. We got great pictures of them. We even went back towards the end of our visit to see them again. The flamingos were very vocal and pretty. The prices were good and plenty of free... More

I didn't even know that this zoo existed. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the variety of critters on display. Many of the animals were asleep due to the heat. Overall, this is a hidden gem.
