Sandwich Glass!

The Sandwich Glass Museum is a lovely museum with a glass blowing exhibit, lots of history and plenty of historic Sandwich glass. This was quite worth the time...nice stop!

we stubbled into history....traditional glass blowing at it best.... for a small entrance fee you get to see how to blow a simple design vase.....which was incredible to watch being made from using different techniques and glass samples to form a stunning glass shape....which I'm sure everyone watching would have loved to take home.....the designer was showing everyone every step... This spot offers a small demonstration about the process of pressed glass. If you enjoy beautiful examples of glass work, it is the perfect stop for you. Enough buttons to push for the children and some special effects demonstrations in one of the exhibits. Not a large parking lot, but I visited on a quite day.

Very nice museum with so many different types of glass. The film was very informative and we enjoyed learning the history of the glass industry in Sandwich. Also enjoyed the glass blowing demonstration.

The visit started with a demonstration of glass blowing and we watched as the glass blower made a wine glass. We then saw a video about the family who had built up the business and then went through the exhibition halls where we saw different types of glass and why objects were made. It was very interesting indeed and well... More

Delightful visit seeing the different types of glass produced at various times during the last two centuries. There was also a glass blowing demonstration by a very personable young man who answered our many questions! Also a gift shop where you can buy glass pieces for reasonable prices...great way to spend an afternoon!

This is a great place to learn about glass making now and its role in the history of Sandwich. Very detailed descriptions and thousands of examples dating back almost 200 years. Very professional and complete E XCEPT for the gift shop, which was all glass--not even a post card to remember my visit.

I might skip the movie next time but the glass demonstration was nice. My daughter got some free glass marbles included with the kids admission price. Alex was the glassblower. My daughter was excited that at the end of the tour she was able to find a swan that Alex made. He packed it up in a box for her... More
