During early morning travels around P Town - wound up on the observation decks of the visitor center and were able to watch whales playing through the binocular stands on the deck! We brought our own binos the next day and continued our free whale watching. When the park rangers arrived to open the center they were extremely helpful and... More

From the beautiful views to the information from the park rangers this is a fun diversion from Commercial Street in Provincetown and the beach. People can hike or take their bikes on the trails, look out at the ocean or see the Pilgrim Monument from a distance. They have exhibits, a movie theater where you can watch short videos about... This is the best place to start your outer cape experience. You will be exposed to nature, whales and understanding the history of the area.

A small but well thought out overview of the national seashore flora and fauna. Short films are constantly running in their theater. Kids will like the outdoor upper deck with great views.

Even though it is a short drive to the visitor center (on the outskirts of Provincetown), it's really not worth it unless you would like to enjoy the panoramic view of the dunes and ocean. The visitor center is pretty small, but is air conditioned. It has a small bookstore/gift shop, similar to what you would see at any visitor... More

I patrolled these lands in the Summer of 1964 as a Park Ranger. It was a heavenly assignment and I was but 21 years old

This is good spot to stop if you have never been to P-Town. While much can be learned online nowadays. . .always best to also get information personally from people who truly know the area.

Incredible views of the dunes and the ocean. Interesting history of the cape. Make sure you see the short films in the theater that give an overview of the area. Go to the second floor to get the best views.
