Some of the reviews here had me thinking this place would be a nudist beach or something :) but honestly those reviews were way overblown. It was a nice chill, relax beach. We got there around 11am and left around 1;30; by the time we...More

Spectacular sunset on a beautiful beach. How can you beat that! There was live music at the pavilion and a great bonfire started right at sunset. What a treat while vacationing in Ptown!

We didn't spend much time at the beach but were told the sunset view was a good one over the water. My girlfriend and I checked it out and were not disappointed. I would recommend bringing beach chairs or a blanket and just relax while...More

The beach is pet-friendly. Plenty of parking on the left side where the washrooms and changing rooms, concession area is located. The other side has limited parking right in front of the beach. In that area, getting to the beach is a little steep climbing...More

Due to recent erosion, it's best to arrive before 9:30 am on good beach days if you want to park right along the beach, though there is a large parking lot on the left after passing entrance gate. Make note of the high tide water...More

Sand is very soft and hard to walk in. You have to pay for parking and I do not like the rocks at the waters edge.

The herring cove beach is very accessible. There is a mat that allows you to reach the beach easily. The Farlands food concession is a big plus. The bathrooms and changing areas are new and clean. Parking can be a challenge in the summer if...More

Go late and there is no fee - go to the left on entry to view the dunes and the enjoy the beach. Far Lands serves delicious food there, as well.

No over night parking but you can sit there in your car until the sun comes up. A little quirky National Seashore issue. Be aware that Herring Cove Beach is a pick-up place for gay men after dark.
