Great place for fleshing our more of Melville’s life and challenges. The docents are really engaged in their subject; especially want to point out “Diane”; I just loved her tact! The gift shop has hard to get works by HM.

I have taken discerning houseguests to Arrowhead several times. It never disappoints. Even people who know little about Melville will be attracted to the history of this unique American writer and the atmosphere of the house.
