Lovely lake tucked in between Pittsfield and Lanesboro, MA. Found several public access parking locations in Lanesboro, no fee to park or enter lakeside areas. Lanesboro side also had boat rentals. Did not see any swimming areas. Looks as if the emphasis is on fishing and boating. Great place to read a book, picnic, watch the sunset.

Public restrooms were locked during this visit, but it is near main roads with gas stations and restaurants. Also nearby are mini-golf and old-school drive-ins. Great day trip, sure to be stunning for fall foliage.

Love Pontoosuc Lake

This lake is clean and beautiful. Perfect for swimming and boating. We’ve been coming here for years and have never had any issues with the lake. You can rent boats and go to the restaurants on the lake. Recently we were boating and my husband took a cup of lake water to clean something. It was absolutely clear. We were all shocked. I’d highly recommend a visit to this tranquil spot.

No swimming!!!

The place is nice, but note that there is no swimming (water is treated with chemicals -- there have posted warnings). You can bring your boat or watch the scenery on the beach.
