This place is not going to compete with bigger parks in Ontario or Canada, but for what it is, it is pretty amazing. Those going only to the beach are going to miss out on some of the best that there is to offer here,...More

Park is clean and well maintained. Camp sites are close together but a good size. Lake is crystal clear. Beach is busy on the weekend.

This is a great provincial park for day use. They have a wonderful beach that leads into a shallow part of the lake. Great for kids - they can go out 10-15 feet and still be at their hips wading in the water. The park...More

We camped here for 3 nights after being recommended by friends. The park is large and has a nice beach and 2 trails. We found that the park has terrible signage and it was easy to lose where you were going. It took almost 15...More

The site was as expected. A bit less private than we had hoped. Moderate/Average privacy might mean very exposed. We bought 2 bags of firewood ($15 total) and it was very very wet. I spent the whole first night trying to keep our fire going...More

We camped at Balsam in 2016. It was our 1st tenting adventure. We had a small bear wander through our site, and I was impressed at how fast and safe(for the animal) it was handled. The staff were very friendly, and took the rules seriously....More

My family recently spent four days here and enjoyed ourselves. We stayed in one of the premium electrical sites and it was huge, you could have fit 3 trailers on it. Everything from a tent to 34 foot trailers occupied these spaces. The sites in...More

Balsam is my favorite place to spend the weekend and this year we were blessed with an 8 day trip there on one of their rarely available waterfront sites - heaven! The washrooms are kept extremely clean, the park staff is friendly and helpful and...More

The park is a clean well run park. We didn't stay overnight but have heard good things about it. The beach is nice but you need to search for shade on warm days. The water is clean and has bouy markers for distance.
