A lot of nice shops, plenty of places to eat. Needed more time to explore the island. The gingerbread cottages were beautiful.

We walked to this beach everyday. Great for exercising in the morning. They have benches along the boardwalk where you can rest a bit.

We came across the beach by chance on a short trip to Martha's Vineyard on a beautiful summer day. We came by ferry and brought our car along, finding a reservation for the car is so hard. You'll need to check the Steamship Authority website regularly to find any an empty slot that fits your schedule. The beach has ample free parking on the roadside and public restroom as well. Views of calm water and boats on one side and the thriving bustling summer environment on the other side is quite relaxing and rewarding. Marhta's Vineyard has a number of cute beaches, and a trip to the island must include enjoying a day at one of them.

Oak Bluffs should be a must on your list if you come to Martha's vineyards. The variety of shops, historical sites and amazing eateries with water views make it a great place to spend the day. We choose to get around on our own - no tour, and take the public transportation. This was the best idea as it was only $10 for the whole day and you could travel to 3-4 areas on the island. Had we rented a scooter ( which most like to do) parking is next to impossible during the summer season so most of your time would be trying to find a place to park and not see much. Looking forward to coming back next year for a longer stay.

Martha's Vineyard offers a variety of things to do and see. It is an island with breathtaking views of the ocean, and filled with great restaurants, beaches, and good hospitality. A tour of the entire island is a must do. You will go through a lot of historic landmarks. It is best to go during summer months if you want to relax and spent some time on the beaches. Winter months can be cold and lot of attractions can be blocked by fog, snow and other related natural phenomenons. Light house is a must see. Only negative is it is extremely expensive for food and drinks on the island, if you are a smart traveler, please get some food from the main land before you get on to the ferry to get there.

We stayed not far from this beach. It is easy to access as you can walk from town or ferry or park right along the edge of the street next to the beach. The water here is calm and good for swimming. It is however rocky at the shore entrance. Once you get in a few feet it is fine. Our young boys enjoyed splashing around here. The water is very clean and clear. We were here in peak times weekends in July/aug and it was not at all crowded.

Went to the beach, with cousins, nephews and sisters, lit the grill and it was windy, so the coals were perfect in minutes, we roasted marshmallows and made smoores, beautiful sunset, and boats in the harbor with lights, great pics! and the smoores came out great.

We took Seastreak ferry from nj so no car town was busy & crowded but we didn’t have to wait on any lines for service. Food was good At the chowder company & Nancy’s. We rented bikes and rode to Edgartown. Breakfast at among the flowers was wonderful Visited Nomans brewery which we loved. Took ferry to Nantucket & visited Cisco’s brewery which was crowded and not worth the $65 pp ferry ride. Unless you love to shop I don’t think Nantucket offered amything more than what was on Martha’s Vineyard. Wasn’t thrilled with oak bluffs beach. Lots of seaweed. Very rocky. Far walk to the. bathroom. nj beaches much nicer. Skip the beach and do other sitecseeing. Back door donuts & carasouel ride are must dos. 20bynine great drinks. Mudslides at sandbar. Walks around the harbor and through the gingerbread village were so relaxing.

Oak Bluffs brings many connotations to anyone that hears the name. Even if you've never been you have an opinion. For many, it's home. Small island life punctuated by a swarm of visitors every summer. For others, it's your home away from home. A place to disconnect and live a slower, more quiet life for a spell. And then come the tourists. With their fancy cars and over-packed bags.

Everyone comes or stays to be part of a community that has so many incongruous parts that someone come together and makes Oak Bluffs such a unique place to live or visit or something in between. The quaint summertime shops on Circuit Ave. Trying to grasp The Golden Ring at the Flying Horses Carousel. A dip in the Ink Well. An epic ocean fishing trip. The Grand Illumination that denotes the end of summer. All parts of OB life for all to enjoy.

Oak Bluffs has a niche for all to come and fit within.

We had views of the beach from our hotel room and walked to the beach as it looked so inviting. The sand was golden and so soft!
