We had a wonderful time on the food tour tasting local treats all while learning about the history of Northampton and the surrounding area. Deborah is a very kind and knowledgable tour guide. The weather was perfect so we got to eat outside in the sunshine, making it feel very safe during these times.

With the current COVID-19 environment I have been searching for a way to safely celebrate both of my daughters birthdays while having an amazing time and making memories. So my mother, my 2 girls and myself set off on what we expected to be a 2 1/2 hour 'standard' food tour. This tour was everything it promised to be and more. We enjoyed a lovely and informative tour of the Northampton Main Street area while sampling delicious farm-to-table products. Deborah was kind, knowledgeable and introduced us to food and places that we would not have found or enjoyed had we decided to wander around on our own. She is connected to her community which was reflected throughout the entire tour. I would definitely recommend this tour.

I signed us up for a Pioneer Valley Food Tour because I thought it would be a great way to learn about the local places to eat and we were not disappointed! Deborah is so kind and knowledgeable, not just about food but specifically the food and food-history of Northampton and the Pioneer Valley. I was a bit worried about how this would work with Covid-19 still happening but Deborah made us feel safe and comfortable the entire time. We sampled food from 5 different places and would definitely book another tour in the future because there is just so much to eat and learn!

My husband, 14 year old son and I spent 2.5 hours on a great tour of some local food spots in Northampton. Deb was so informative and we enjoyed every stop along her tour. We would have never found and tried the dishes she shared with us. Great experience and a fun way to spend the afternoon together. My teenage son commented that it was "fun/a good time" which is a win in our book :) Thanks Deborah for a memorable day.

Taking the Pioneer Valley Food Tour was an amazing experience shared by my family and I. Not only did we taste some great food around town, but we also learned a little about the history of Northampton and it’s local farm based community, which explains why it’s food usually tasted so fresh wherever we ate. We even learned about how great historical leaders such as Sojourner Truth and WEB Du Bois have history in and from around the area of this cool little town. But I feel what really made this tour stand out in a special way, was the intimate nature of it, thanks to the passion and love that Deborah; our wonderful tour guide, has for not only food, but also the local farm based Northampton community we ended up being smitten by ourselves. As much as Deborah loves the community, she was also respectfully honest about it, and didn’t over romanticize it, speaking very candidly about how she feels it can still grow, which for us, actually made the tour that much more interesting and intriguing. Even with some limitations of not being able to do all of the usual food tasting in a few of the local restaurants due to state sanctioned Covid restrictions, Deborah still managed to take us on a lovely journey through this best kept secret of a cool little town. From her intro of the tour, where she had us tasting probably the juiciest peaches I,ve ever tasted in my entire life (no lie!), which are currently in season in Northampton, to a stop at one of the local Moroccan restaurants, where we sipped some delicious mint tea with actual fresh mint leaves in it, then had some amazing freshly made falafel, to sitting in a nice little park, tasting some baked bread from the local bakery, along with some vermont made cheeses, while sample sipping some local wheat brewed beer, followed by a few other stops at some nice local spots , Deborah’s passion and love for the culinary experience as a chef was quite apparent through the way she cleverly crated together her sequence and story of local tasting, interwoven with the town’s interesting history. The Pioneer Valley Food Tour is way more than just a normal everyday tour. It’s an intimate journey for “food and travel geeks”, taking you througih a humble yet lovely small town with personality, heart, and a supportive resourceful community. Deborah, the tour guide, clearly loves what she does and where she lives, and manages to make you feel this same type of love, as she guides you through the tasting the fresh food and taking in the chill vibes of the Northampton farm based community. Taking this food tour was an experience my family and I will never forget.
