From the year that the beacon was first lit in 1838, this historic lighthouse, located at the entrance of Mattapoisett Harbor, is still in operation today.

The lighthouse is the symbol of the shipping days back when Mattapoisett had one the larges swordfishing fleets in the world. It is also the place where we went "parking" in the 1950s.

One of my favorite local spots! Beautiful view of Mattapoisett Harbor! Picturesque! Watch the sun rise and set! Great place for picnics (tables available), relaxing, and kite-flying. Well-kept grounds. Restrooms available. Free parking.

It's a great place to relax, play ball. Fly a kite, sail surf, sailing, take in the view, have a picnic, they have tables. The grounds are kept clean & grass cut. They do have rest rooms. Free parking, that in itself is worth the...More

It's a great little park. Beautiful Bay view and park with bathrooms. Sit in car or enjoy the park. Great for kite flying. A small beach to lunch small boats

Always love going here to relax!! Hidden GEM!!! Peaceful and great place to take pictures! I'm lucky to live close enough to visit often!!

Locals recommended a visit to watch a sunset. Great space on the water to take it a view and let the kids explore. If you were looking for a picnic area or beach to hang out this is a good one.

Ah...Beautiful, rugged Buzzards Bay! Stopped by to catch the sunrise on a chilly Mattapoisett morning in March. I had the pleasure of sharing my view with two seagulls. Peaceful and serene, but dress warm.

Relaxing little place to park and hang out and look at the views. It was a quick stop on our way home (to stretch our legs).

You need to contact the Department of Recreation for the town. I did get married here, but I had to contact them, reserve the date, and there was a fee for it if you were not living in Mattapoisett. You will also probably... More
