a relaxing afternoon on the lawn at Tanglewood

a very quiet place to have lunch on the lawn and listen to the performances. I would go back again in a heartbeat.

Just returned from a Sunday evening performance of classical music by YoYo Ma, A great performance in a great performance shed. We arrived about 6 to be sure getting handicapped parking. We were directed to a spot just outside a gate. This made getting to the venue extremely easy. Lots of lawn for viewing without purchasing seats in shed.

An event to go to 100%. There are so many types of music now offered at Tanglewood. I love classical so it is heaven to me. But there is also the Boston Pops and other more modern types of music that can pop up here. The vast expanse of the grounds plus the top quality music of whatever sort is... More

Wonderful way to spend the evening. The doors to the grounds open many hours before the show. Bring a picnic, wine, lawn chairs, umbrella, table. Do it up big and use a wagon of some sort. Walk the grounds. The place is beautiful, wonderful gardens, the views are fantastic. The show was incredible!! We experienced Tanglewood on Parade featuring 3... More

The world-class Boston Symphony in a world-class outdoor setting: it's all good. Book seats in the Shed and you'll be protected even if it rains (it did). Come early to visit the historic buildings and enjoy the spectacular views.

There's still nothing quite like this beautiful spot to hear music in the Berkshires on a Summer evening. Choose between the Shed with seats (bring a cushion!) or the lawn where you may picnic beforehand. The Boston Symphony presents three concerts every weekend in July and August and has other musical events during the week. It's a very special place.

The day was perfect - sunny with a light breeze. Family of performers were invited to the rehearsal of Mahlers 8th. What a treat. It could also be heard from the grounds but family got into the Shed. The acoustics are great. The grounds close around 4 and then reopen for that evenings concert. As we left people were arriving... More

We travelled from Canada and we loved it. We lived in Stockbridge, 6 miles away and it was perfect. The trafic can be challenging but one should expect that like any other place where you have hundreds of cars and only one road. My congratulations for volunteers and organisers. We'll be back.

Went to the outdoor concert of Boston Pops and Philharmonic August 4th. Had lawn seating. We brought our own chairs but they are also available for rent. Great opportunity to hear great music in a beautiful nature setting. Surprisingly there were very few insects. Also they were very organized with the parking. Beautiful music under the stars. .does it get... More

Went there on a day when no concerts were occurring, although there was an opera performance we could hear. We guessed it was a class being given. The grounds were quite beautiful and provided a pleasant walk. I would love to go there to see a performance. Alas, it was not to be. There was a large pavilion and an... More
