This property was a military base with interesting buildings. It is easy to walk or bike with paved roads as well as off road trails.

If you want to fell like you are in the Forrest but minutes away from Boston or the Beach, then wampatuck is the place to go. It's an institution of the south shore of Boston.

Often times we see no one, other times there are cyclist, joggers and dog walkers. But always, there is enough acreage to find the calm and beauty of the woods. Our only criticism that keeps us from not rating the Park Excellent, is we still get lost with the markers not always so clear! Happily, we have never been lost... More

Beautiful wooded park with loads of biking and walking trails. A hidden treasure with an entrance in a residential neighborhood.

We've walked many roads and paths in Wompatuck, from a 10 mile boy scout fundraiser in 1982, to the Thanksgiving "Turkey Trot" for several years to just a peaceful 5 mile walk last week! The roads are also perfect for "older" bicyclers as it's relatively flat and hard surfaced or paved. It's quiet and very serene. The visitors center offers... More

Hingham has a real gem with this State Park. The campground is heavily wooded and the sites have a ton of space in between them. Very peaceful with few cars going by our site. No septic or water hookups at sites but there are water stations all over to fill your tanks and a large dump station on the way... More

we were driving the morning of a wedding we were to attend and came across the park. We went walking, nice grounds and trails wish we could have spent more time there. To add to our adventure there were some goats behind an electrical fence and one escaped so we spent some time getting him back People friendly and park/... More

Wompatuck State Park in Hingham is a great place to go hiking, walking , bike riding , jogging or just take the dogs here with a friend. It used to be a Nike site back during WW2 and is maintained well by the state. Offers ponds, trails, museum and an occasional concert or event going on.

We used this campground just for a layover one night while spending time in the greater Boston / Quincy area. It was so peaceful, not crowded at all. Close enough to the Boston area but far enough to feel far away from it. The bathrooms were very clean. The sites aren't big and are kind of close together, but we... More
