Awesome day at the beach! Small beach requiring a daily pass $20 or Harwich beach pass. You are able to walk right on firm white sand. If you have gait issues they have a mobi wc to use on the sand Not a long walk to get to the waters edge. Yes they do have seaweeds but they were not bad. The water is warm because it is on the Nantucket Sound They have clean bathrooms and a concession stand. We didn't get anything. It was a gorgeous day with the breeze just right. Try this beach you will not be disappointed!

We aren't beach people and don't normally spend entire days at the beach, but we do like an occasional visit for a few hours. We had a very good time at Red River Beach.
First, we are not locals and we were able to pay at the beach for a one-day $15 pass. Don't let anyone tell you that the beach is restricted to residents because it is not true. I didn't find the $15 fee objectionable for such a nice beach and our group of four people.
The beach is a nice blend of fairly fine white sand, with large amounts of shells washing up for those who like to collect them, and a very pleasant place to walk. Yes, some seaweed does wash up, but not in any quantity that would deter even a landlubber from going in the water. You might also find interesting things like horseshoe crabs and hermit crabs and the like, at least we did on our visit. There are some submerged stones when you wade out, but not enough to make swimming unpleasant.
We especially liked the cleanliness of the beach, and that it wasn't packed solid with people. There was enough room that we never felt crowded.

Perfect beach to sit, swim, bring kids. Not just parking for locals, you just have to pay if you don't have a town sticker, which can be bought for the season for 25.00. Parking is at edge of beach, so easy access. Seaweed? Yes, it's the ocean. Water is warmer here because it's the Sound. Now it has a concession stand so you can buy food while you're there. And don't forget the bathrooms. I'm fussy and I like it.

Went to our new favorite beach today. Got there at 10:15am. Pay our $20.00. Many many parking spaces. At 12:30pm, cars waiting for a spot.
Beach is huge, no problem finding you perfect spot. There were many young families as well as older folks. People were very friendly and polite.
The waves are mid sized. Not tiny, yet not big enough to knock you down. Restrooms were clean, There was a line at 12p. There was also a concession stand, that we didn’t try.
Very nice trip the beach.

The day we visited this beach, the tides were high, and good waves for swimming. There were sea shells and rocks for collecting along the shore. When you arrive after 4:00, the parking is free and a perfect time for the beach. Good walking Beach!!!

We spend a few weeks every summer & early fall in Harwich, this is a lovely small beach, lovely if you can walk to, parking is rather small. Feels like our own private
beach. Have enjoyed many early cups of coffee here. Make the time if you can...worth it.

One of my favorite beaches in harwichport. Large beach, plenty of parking and flat walk to beach ( no stairs)

Red river beach is awesome!!! To top the beach off even more than it being clean and great for kids is the "food runner". Food runner is a big trailer that retired veterans work there, the food is great!! I highly recommend you go to this beach because it has everything you need to have a great day with family!!

You will get nice warm air and water very early in the season at Red River Beach. That's because
of the proximity of the Gulf Stream. Lots of parking but in high season it fills up and many disappointed people are turned away. It's a favorite of local residents. Parking fee is about $15 a day. Quite a few lifeguards. Sometimes it loads up with sea weed, but one can usually find one beach that it free of it. The beach is raked and well cared for by the local Cracker Jack highway department. And a real plus are the two bath rooms! Great for the handicapped, too.

This beach has become one of the nicest on Cape Cod for family fun. Life Guards, nice sand, but the water is better enjoyed with swimming shoes sold in local stores as there are many small rocks and pebbles. Come visit
