A very good place to walk, sit and take in the quiet. Is very safe, and all the people seem friendly. You can skate on the pond in winter.

I've Walked, Cross Country Skied, gone Snowshoing and included it in a bike ride. Right on the edge of downtown Greenfield and enjoyed by people of all sorts and interests from early morning birdwatchers to joggers and runners training for that next event.

We've been here many times to hike along many trails and it is always a pleasure. Listen for frogs in the vernal pools in spring!

I come here as often as I can, at least once or twice a week, not to visit the pond itself but to walk the wide and unpaved Bear's Den Road that curves around to the south of it, through Temple Woods. Couples and families...More

This spot is within walking distance of Main Street, but it is a world away from the bustle. The pond and its surroundings (the park, Sachem's Head, the trail) provide a welcome respite from the norm. Each season provides a different experience, but always a...More

When I was a kid in the 60's, Highland Pond was the most fun in the winter. It had a side sectioned off for the hockey players, and the rest of it, 2/3 of the pond, was for everyone else. I walked almost a mile...More

The pond used to be used for ice skating in winter but no longer is. People mostly go there to walk their dogs or jog along the cool wooded road/path. A few take their lunch breaks there, eating mostly in their cars. Some kids try...More

Dirty, not maintained and home to many homeless people. It could be wonderful, but Greenfield does not put in the effort. All talk, no action.
