There are many parks in Gloucester for kids, near the beach, good for picnicing, family meet-ups, etc., but Ravenswood is more or less isolated and good for walking with your dog. Well maintained and well-visited, but I would rather the coastal Stage Fort Park and...More

Gloucester has such an interesting landscape because of the glacial erratics. This moderate hike has scenic views, unusual rock formations and the dog loves it. We'll go anytime of year to experience a different hike each time.

This beautiful natural park is a great place to walk, bike or cross country ski. It can be enjoyed year round and has easy enough trails for everyone. I especially like it in winter when the fragrant evergreens scent the air and the snow crunches...More

Like nature? This is one of the best to enjoy the woods, ponds, trails and peace and serenity ~ Great for all season and for individuals, couples, families and the dogs ~ Bring own doggie doo bag please.

I have gone to this place for years, long before it was a Trustees' property, and have always loved the almost zen-like qualities of its trails wandering amongst the boulders. There are no huge sights within the park, it's just a beautiful place overall. There...More

I've been to this park a few times whenever I travel to the area. When I went this summer the magnolias were all in bloom around the pond. It was beyond spectacular! Great place to walk dogs too.

Beautiful in all the four seasons and popular with the locals and their dogs, there is variety of scenery. The boardwalk well-worth checking out but make sure you have bug spray on during the warmer months.

Wear a hat if you visit in July/Aug, the deer flies are brutal. Trails are well maintained and clearly marked. One good view along the Ledge hill trail and the Hermits Plaque can be visited at the end of the trail.

I love this spot as a great place to get out and enjoy the outdoors with my dog. There's swamp trails, woods trails and even a good view of the ocean in a spot. There's various level of difficulties for the trails, from the big,...More
