So much to do here, there are two amazing group galleries, the Gallery 53, which is jam packed with fine art as well as pottery, jewelry, cards, etc, with a range of prices, and the Cultural Center at Rocky Neck, which has themed shows of...More

On course for gentrification but still has an authentic, art neighborhood feel. About three blocks of little shops and galleries with the air of old Rockport. People smile and say Hi on the street and the sidewalk has it's on twists and turns making it...More

We visited the area a bit early in the season for all the art studios/gallery's to be open. Enjoyed those we were able to visit. Very nice view of the water front from a ship restoration dock. Parking in the area is LIMITED so best...More

Back in the day Rocky Neck in Gloucester was an artist colony. There was jazz in a hotel that long ago burned down. It is still a terrific destination for scenic dining with a harbor view. In season it is busy and hard to find...More

We stayed in a converted sail loft in Rocky Neck when we visited Gloucester. It is a beautiful area with low traffic and great views out over the harbor.

Lots of very interesting small galleries exhibiting everything from funky to classic fine art (and prices to match.) We enjoyed chatting with the artists and seeing Gloucester through their work. Worth an afternoon.

Rocky Neck is home to one of the oldest art colonies in the USA. In many of the galleries the artists live where they work so you can see them creating pieces as well as have in depth conversations about those that are displayed. The...More

I think this is a very trendy and touristy area but worth the walk to see the art galleries and little shops. It feels like the street is closed off to traffic but really cars can go down the road as they need and people...More

We enjoy catching the inner harbor water taxi which stops at The Studio restaurant in Rocky Neck. Grab some food, walk thru the private galleries and if you have interest it is where several of the tuna boats from the show Wicked Tuna are moored.
