The vacation rental we used was about a mile from the bridge. We would be on the deck and as soon as we heard the train whistle we would all come out to the deck to watch the bridge lower so the train could cross it is amazing to see.

Drove up to ostensibly see the canal but was right beside the Railway Bridge... very cool and engineered beautifully....I was even more impressed with the tidal waters and their rate of flow and knowing, depending on tides, if the river flows one way or another...pretty neat and not a lot of people around!!

A fascinating piece of engineering. It is pleasant to sit by the canal and watch the boats going up and down but seeing the bridge lowering and the train coming over is really exciting.

easy to get to. On the bank of the Cape Cod Canal. Free parking, rest rooms, fishing and great to watch the bridge come down and see the train cross.

This attraction is the money not worth. It was not cheap and the most time you will see only trees. We booked the lunch train, the lunch was ok. but that was it. The train did not drive to the Canal Bridge. He stopped about 1/2 Mile before. You could see the Brige. The same way we drove back. Trees... More

We walk our dogs here when the weather is questionable. It's generally not too busy, and I like to watch the water and boats zip through the canal.

I am from the midwest, and have never seen a structure like this. I is very large and you can see it from the main street in Buzzards Bay. Near the National Marine Life Center

I loved this place. Very relaxing and fun to watch all the different boats go by. Unfortunately, we didn't wait to see the bridge in action but I heard it still runs!

It's beautiful to just walk along the canal. It's a bonus if you get to see the railroad bridge go up and down. It still marvels me how well this works. You can even try to fool the young children to say the train must go up then down.

Always a great place for a walk, run, biking, or fishing. Nothing more relaxing than a stroll near the ocean.
