First, Hyannis Whale Watcher has a great boat (modern, clean, powerful), a great captain and a very good tour guide/naturalist. I've been on many Provincetown whale watches over the years but this was my first out of Barnstable. I was worried about the longer ride...More

We saw a whale and it was awesome. Captain Mike was so great and made it easy to see the whale from both sides of the boat. We watched the whale feed for about one hour. Trip if a life time.

Wonderful day. Jon, our tour guide and Naturalist, was terrific. Lots of good information shared. Left right on time. Easy to find & parking close by. Tour lasted four hours. Boat was clean and comfortable and the crew navigated so that we could come up...More

Fun outing, however I would not recommend this for children under 8, the whales are up and back down very quickly. Pay attention to the details of what to wear and bring. It can be very chilly on the boat. We saw about 5 whales,...More

We had a good whale watch yesterday . We saw two species , finbacks and minke : and the finbacks were particularly spectacular . So mesmerising to watch as they swim along leaving no water displacement as they go . There were no humpbacks to...More

So glad we chose this company- mainly for proximity (we were staying mid-cape) and other reviews, but it turned out to be a great day. The captain was funny and knowledgeable, and stayed out as long as possible to give us a good view of...More

We had a fantastic time and feel confident we choose the best company with Hyannis Whale Watchers. We took the very nice whale boat from Barnstable and it took us over just past Provincetown. 🛳The captain and crew were amazing. Jon gave an excellent commentary...More

Since whales spend most of their time underwater, it's great that you were patient as well! It pays off in the end! Hope to see you again and thanks for reminding peole about bringing that extra jacket!

June 11th and the boat left at 11 am as scheduled. Nice clean boat and an enjoyable ride out to the whale feeding grounds. Didn't have to wait long and then we saw Nile, the humpback. The captain did a fantastic job of honing in...More

We had a great time on the whale watching tour. The tour start time was delayed by 2 hours and we didn't find it out till we got there. It would've nice to get a call about the time change. Nevertheless, we saw humpback whales...More

We're sorry about the erroneous departure time that day. Tides dictate when we can come and go in Barnstable Harbor and we missed that one. It's all on us and please accept our apologies for the mix-up. It's rare, but does happen and the best...More

Hello, My family ( twin 4 year olds and a 7 year old ) are strongly considering this trip for mid October this year? Firstly, is this a good / bad time of year to see whales? Also, are there any other considerations I should take into account in terms of going on the boat with young children. Thank you for your time. Kindest Regards Clare ( UK )

It won't be as crowded then but our guide told us the whales don't stay year round. You have to go down a walkway and up a ramp to get on the boat and the boat has multiple levels. You would need warm clothing for the... More

Has anyone taken younger children on this? Mine will be 8, 5 1/2 and almost 4. I'm a little worried about their boredom given the length of the trip (3 1/2-4 hours). Anyone have experience with this?

Over the years we have carried tens of thousands of children on our whale watching adventures, so you are not the first to ask this question! With toddlers (and I have two myself), taking them anywhere presents challenges... More
