He was accommodating to pick us up at the Inn and knew lots about the Chesapeake water and environmental concerns, but the ride itself was boring and we felt like we were just going in circles. Plus he never gave us a proper welcome and introduction, his bedside manner was lacking. I had also mentioned there were young children on... More

The Captain is an interesting guy who will not run out of stories! We had a great time, hoisted the jib, helped pull in a load of dredged material from the bay bottom, learned more about the history of the area and the occupation than we ever imagined. Memorable and well worth it.

We were greeted by H.M. Krentz on his ship outside of the Maritime Museum. Mr. Krentz is very knowledgable about the bay, the ship, and history of the area. The ship is a classic ship beautifully crafted. The ship is truly what a classic ship look likes. The ride on the bay was very relaxing. Mr. Krentz has many stories... More

We enjoyed our sail with Captain Ed. He shared interesting history and facts about the area, the rivers/bays/water, oysters and oystering, and skipjack history and construction. You don't sail particularly far (it's a 2 hr sail to reach the Chesapeake Bay) so what you see is pretty similar. However, we enjoyed being on the water and listening to his stories.... More

We thoroughly enjoyed the cruise. Captain Ed provided great information on the history and current conditions of the oyster haulers. We wer not bored!! It was a beautiful scenic cruise with more background information than we ever could have thought!

Do not miss a Skipjack sail if you are visiting St Michaels or one of the nearby towns. Capt. Jack Farley is knowledgeable, amusing and full of lore about the Chesapeake Bay. Our sail was a highlight of our trip. Thanks Captain Jack for a great evening sail.

Bring something to sit on like a stadium seat! You'll appreciate it. Wear a hat and suntan lotion. Water is good too! Other than these incidentals the voyage was extremely informative and fun.

Captain Ed and his first mate gave us quite an informative evening sail! The captain was very well spoken and passionate about the Chesapeake Bay and the health of it, as well as its tributaries. We learned about the construction of the fabulous skipjacks and their value as oyster in boats. We even dredged a scoop of river bottom and... More

The time was well spent. The Captain was a wealth of knowledge about the area and the industry. He brought out maps to compare and contrast various waterways. He "personalized" the history and challenges of the life of watermen. This cruise was well worth it!
