This town is only a few blocks long. It has some beautiful homes across the street from the Bay. Most things were closed since it was March. I will go back one day to see it when open for business.

We took a drive down to Tilghman Island while staying in St. Michael's for the weekend. It's a quaint little fishing town and it was a pretty drive.

The Waterman museum is in a unique historical home and worth the drive. It is about a 15 minute drive from St Michaels but to look into the history of this island it was worth it. Folks are awesome and for Christmas they decorated the entire place. Coffee, cocoa and cookies too.
Takes about an hour to see.

Wonderful display of Tilghman Island's history. Lots of stuff, all interesting.. Called for a private, mid week, tour. Just a delight.

Unfortunately, no shops and not much to see ay Tilghman Island. A quiet community though and cute houses.

We took a drive to Tilghman Island, as we were staying close by in St. Michaels. It's a quiet little place, but has beautiful views of the water, especially if you drive out to the tip. We explored the old cemetery next to St. John's church. We also stopped by the country store, which I had read about. They have a great menu for a small local spot.

AN EXTRAORDINARILY SAFE FIRST-CLASS STAY at the Gorgeous Tilghman Island Inn! For those of you looking for a respite from today's news, I recommend a visit to the Tilghman Island Inn. We have visited the Inn for over 30 years and the latest renovation has finally turned an unbelievably beautiful location into a first-class Inn. From my first phone contact with Sherri to our checkout with Murielle, we had delightful and informative help with every question. They are stringent with their COVID regime and we felt completely safe throughout our stay. The new, COVID-safe breakfast was such a treat I can only hope they will keep it after the pandemic is finally gone. We picked up our pre-packaged breakfast at the desk and took it outside to eat on the deck overlooking the Nature Preserve across the narrow inlet from the Inn. TWO EAGLES, a heron, a spectacular egret and numerous other water birds entertained us while we ate fresh baguette slices with charcuterie, fresh orange and grapefruit slices, delicious cheese, a fresh mini chocolate croissant and mini apple tart and the BEST bite of smoked poached salmon & cream cheese I have ever eaten! Our second floor room with balcony overlooking the waterway and Nature Preserve was comfortable, roomy and had a terrific gas fireplace which we tried just because it was there! The beautiful bathroom with jacuzzi tub had lovely complimentary essentials and a stunning glass door with their amazing logo. The complimentary bottles of water were also most welcome. The always safely-distanced and masked staff made our stay a total treat and total success. Go and enjoy!!

Drove out to the very end of the road (a renovated mansion turned B&B but it was closed for a private function). Did stop in the parking lot near the Navy installation to look across the bay. Some others fishing off the rocks. Stopped at the Wylder Hotel for lunch which was fairly good (but cool/breezy eating outdoors).

When visiting we never go far past St. Michaels but decided to take the drive this last visit. It is nice for sure, but the scenery is nothing super as the water is not always visible from the road. Near the end at the point of the peninsula it is very nice. But expected a bit more. Seems like the locals can do more with this place, as I coudl see it being a destination.
