This was a very cute, but informative museum that we visited on our way to leave the Boardwalk for the day. The man at the desk was super helpful, and if we had more time he definitely would have had more knowledge for us!
The display of sand around the world was incredible! We also enjoyed the tanks of some sea animals. Laughing Sal's laugh was a bit on the creepy side!!
Very enjoyable, and we learned a lot!

A nice way to spend 30-60 minutes. Visit during the heat of the day and enjoy air conditioning and a glimpse of Ocean City days long ago. My favorite part was the history of the boardwalk. I learned a lot about the U.S. Life Saving Service.

This was a nice little surprise at the end of the boardwalk. We have two little ones (6,3) who enjoyed the scavenger hunt and looking at all the "treasures". They also loved the tanks with eels and crabs. It takes no more than 30 min to walk through. The two gentleman working on our visit could not have been kinder. They were a pleasure to talk to and made it special.

If you want to learn about Ocean City, no better place then the Coastguard Museum. Filled with antiques, ship wreck treasures and one of the original laughing sally's. Outside is a canon and huge anchor, great for a family photo op.

Very enjoyable. Takes only an hour. So worth it. I would recommend. Parking is a snap right next door. It's at the very beginning of the boardwalk so easy to get to.

The history (ancient and recent) along with the aquarium room and other displays are well worth your time! Nice for all ages.

Stopped in here on a drizzly afternoon to kill some time. Really nothing special. Although there some nice old displays.

My sister and brought my two young nieces ( 3 an 7 years old) to the shore for a weekend getaway. We stopped into this little charm once we reached the end of the boardwalk.

Firstly, it's very inexpensive. For the four of us to enjoy this self-toured museum was a whopping $6. Secondly, the gentleman who ran the museum was very pleasant. He greeted us and was very patient with the two little ones running around the shop. He thoroughly explained to us what the museum was about. There was also a small bonus game for the kids. They have small, wooden sharks set up throughout the museum named Sherlock, and the kids get to look through the museum and answer questioned on a test while looking for Sherlock. The 7-year old LOVED this. At the end, for acing the quiz, she received a shark's tooth. She thought it was just the coolest thing ever!

The museum itself is a small, two-story building, but is really interesting. On the first floor, there is an aquarium room that offers a close up of some creatures you will find around OCMD and then has a comparison of real sharks' jaws for you. There's another display dedicated to the different sands from around the world, and another for life saving techniques.

The second floor has some really neat historic pieces as well. One room is dedicated to boardwalk shenanigans. There are displays of what people would have won as prizes and some old rides/gimmicks (check out Bruno!). The other rooms were displays of Native American influences on the shore and surf culture.

This is such a neat little charm at the end of the boardwalk. It's small, but inexpensive. And there are steep steps to the second floor. If you're interested in a little history of OCMD, stop by and maybe win a prize for finding Sherlock!

What a great little museum! I have been by this museum a million times and never taken the time to explore it. It is a great value at $3 and you can use an internet coupon for a free admission when you buy one. I loved the upstairs part that pays homage to the boardwalk and especially the display for Boardwalk Elvis!
