Swallow Falls State Park is a BEAUTIFUL place!!! We have been there on a few occasions and have always enjoyed it!! There is a hike through a beautiful hemlock forest that goes along side of the Youghiogheny River and Swallow Falls. Plenty of nice places to stop and relax and cool off in the river if you'd like. The trail... More

Enjoyed our hike and seeing the falls. There were two real nice falls😃 Then a small falls and one I wouldn't call a falls. But that is ok. Loved the trees in the woods. Loved the hugest falls😃

The hike is very doable and the scenery is excellent. There are more than one falls so do not stop walking. The highest falls are Muddy Creek and Swallow Falls are at the other end of the trail. The trail loops so you are never truly far from the parking lot. Worth the drive!

4 different falls can be seen on this 1.25 loop. Paths have steps at times to help with descent and ascent. Any walking ability can do this hike. Lakeside creamery food cart at the end to reward yourself with delicious locally made ice cream. 45 per person charge to get in if not a Garrett County resident.

Title says it all. Had a great afternoon exploring the trails, the three water falls, climbing. Nicely shaded and lots of people swimming and enjoying the water. Nowhere to dump garbage once you leave the parking area so bring a bag to carry your trash until you get to a trash can. Be sure to visit their sister park (pricing... More

Great place for my photography. A lot of people were swimming, and it looked like fun. Does take some walking to get to, but well worth it.

This was our first visit and we thought it was great! We hiked the entire loop with a 4 and 7 year old. They did a great job and enjoyed the adventure. There were a couple spots on the trail where you needed to hold their hand but for the most part could do it on their own. The falls... More

First, its important to know, you CANNOT bring dogs and it is not stroller friendly. There is a $5 per person charge during the summer months, $3 pp for in state. The scenery is well worth the hike which I would not consider very strenuous to the average person but we were with someone that had a torn meniscus and... More

There is about a 1 mile trail that takes you past 4 different waterfalls. This is definitely not ADA or stroller friendly, unless you just go to visit Muddy Creek Falls which is definitely the biggest in the park. Wear your bathing suit and creek shoes and be prepared to slip and slide in the water if you like (not... More

This location is a beautiful 1.25 mile loop. It passes by four waterfalls/river features. Travelers tip: when you enter the loop from the parking lot, go to the right (counter-clockwise). You'll see the largest waterfall last instead of first and that will make all the other waterfalls more majestic as you build to the biggest! Good hike for any age.
