Really enjoyed the time and care that they have put into restoring the Montpelier Mansion. Great way to spend an afternoon - be sure to check the time it is open before going and allow some time to read all the great information provided.

Self tour was excellent. You receive a pamphlet that describes what you're seeing throughout the tour. The desk people were very knowriteable and friendly. No pressure at all.

As kids, we all used to tell ghost stories of this place. It just has that appearance from the outside. Cool place to visit if you find yourself in Laurel and in need of killing some time.

This former plantation is an interesting place to visit. The mansion and grounds are used for festivals, concerts, and the year Shakespeare in the Park. I love visiting Montpelier. You can also take arts classes at the Arts Center here. I go here often

We have visited for both types of experiences. It is a superb venue, whether for an art exhibit or recital. Many outreach educational programs as well.

An excellently preserved historical location. Look at the Declaration of Independence. It is on loan from our family an is an original!

The playground is a great way to introduce young children to history. They can wind up a bucket at the well, give a Punch & Judy puppet show, visit the town square, play house in the historic Summer House at the end of the historic...More

No. It sat on a plateau. They had the view of a river but no lake at the immediate property I believe.
