180 miles of beauty and peace, flora and fauna. I have walked, biked rode horses, fished, floated, and boated this park and river for years. Never disappointed. Spend the day, night ot a quick walk on the towpath. You will enjoy!

I think soon this park will improve drastically by what they described. We enjoyed being like George Washington by boating down the Potomac River albeit the canal. The history was great and the little boat trip was fun and educational, but short. What can you...More

It stretches from Georgetown to Cumberland, 184 miles of level, car-less pathway beside the beautiful Potomac River. There are interpretive signs explaining the history and technology of the canal. It's a place to hike, to bike, to ride your horse, to walk your dog. It...More

If you enjoy fishing, riding bikes, taking walks, or photography come here. You can take a boat ride, watch a video, and even buy a book about Williamsport MD.

I bike on the canal whenever possible, usually embark Williamsport. We are so blessed to have this towpath in our backyard. People walk, jog, bike, fish along the way. Always a perfect antidote to daily craziness.

We had to use google maps too. The signs are ok but it is easier with GPS. Good luck!
