A treasure in a small town,

The rotating displays and artwork are amazing. I enjoy going often and try to make it for each new display. The music presentations are a gem!

I suspect this is a very nice museum according to the reviews- but this place is NOT kid friendly. I wonder who decided to put a 'free museum' by a children's park with a whimsical entrance which draws children. We came with small children and were met at the door with a frown- and it only got worse. We felt... More

I live in Hagerstown and I haven't visited the museum for a while. The last time I visited was to admire the kids artwork from Greenbrier Elementary, the school I used to teach. I'm retired now. It was wonderful touring the museum again to soak in new pieces displayed.

I did not expect such a nice collection in a smaller town and so far from DC. Nice visit, low key and friendly and helpful staff. I will return

I took my six year old grandson here as part of a Cub Scout badge. We had a great half hour looking at the paintings until his attention wavered. It is well worth a visit if you have some more time a there is a good range of art here. The staff are very helpful

Been meaning to visit for a while. (Museum is not well known but should be). Excellent collection, with one great Rodin, and some lesser ones. Other fine pieces, incl a childe Hassan, some 1900 Northern Danish School, and other real gems There was a superb collection of charcoal prints who visited Mongolia 100 years ago. Friendly staff, good layout. Highly... More

This museum holds a great eclectic collection of good art work. From Old Masters to Norman Rockwell, there is a bit of almost everything. any pieces have good descriptive information. It was odd, though, that a curator was pointing out to another worker, errors on placards by some of the paintings. Do you really want to talk about this in... More

This is one of the best small art museums we have run across anywhere.. Even if you are on your way to somewhere else, it you like paintings, drawings and sculpture it is definitely worth a two hour stopover. As a bonus, the museum is located within a lovely city park worth visiting in its own right..

We have visited this museum on several occasions, most recently for a presentation about music that was wonderful.
