We loaded up our bikes one day and took them over to Brantwood Park to ride around the paved path. Park was pretty empty except for a few families with children on the playground. We did come across one runner and a group of walkers on the path. No one seemed to mind that we had our bikes there. I did not see any signs that said "no bikes", so we figured it was ok. We also took a walk around the fishing pond side one day. We walked past the playground and up towards the fishing pond. As we neared the pond on the main walking trail, we encountered a large brown SNAKE sunbathing in the grass. I'm not sure what kind of snake it was as I did NOT hang around to find out. We walked across the way to the fishing pond and thought we would walk around over there. However, we were disappointed to see that there was not much of a walking trail on that side. The trail goes around the pond and dead-ends at a fence beside The Lotus. We had to turn around and walk back out the same path we came in on. There was no connecting trail to the parking lot.
Overall, this is a nice small park. The playground is nice. The walking trail is nice, although there are not a lot of shade trees. There are some small ponds or creeks, but nothing big. The water at times smells stagnant. There are tiny fish that can been seen from the footbridges. I would recommend if looking for an outdoor area to walk or take the kids to the playground. I would just beware there are SNAKES in the area.

Stopped here with the kids one day to check out the walking trails. Parking lot is a decent sized gravel lot. Once parked you can access the playground, portable toilet or walking paths. We thought that the path was a loop that ran in front of the parking lot and playground was a loop. We opted to walk past the playground. Part way up the path, you come to a fork in the path. If you go left it goes beside Williams Rd. If you go right it crosses over a footbridge that goes over a little creek. We decided to take the path across the footbridge. Here we saw some trickling water, some really tiny fish and pond life. There were flowers in the pond and cattails along the edge. We continued up the path thinking it would loop around and connect to the other side of the park. However, after passing under a few shade trees the path made an abrupt halt. It came to a weird circle where you could turn around and walk back the way you came. We decided to take the foot path closest to the road this time.
Once back at the playground we decided to take a peek at what all was there. There was a really neat pretend "tree" house that had slides coming out of it. It also had a footbridge connecting to another slide. In addition to the slides, there were several swings including one baby swing and a couple ADA swings. There were a few other playground equipment as well. We didn't really play due to the pandemic, but just took a peek at what they had there.
We decided to take the path that went towards the woods after looking at the playground. This path rounded a bend that went under some shade trees. Around this bend we saw all kinds of dragonflies and wild berries at the woods edge. As we walked the path we passed the backside of the playground and continued up the path to a footbridge that again crossed the creek. On this side we only saw a few damselflies and dragonflies...no fish. We knew this path would NOT meet up with the other side so we opted to just turn around and head back. It appears this path may bring you out onto Williams Road directly across from the catch & release fishing pond. It looks like the path continues on the other side of Williams Rd. We did end up stopping by the fishing pond side later just to take a peek and it looked like a nice place to walk as well. Although the parking lot on that side is grass and specifically for those fishing.
Overall, we enjoyed our time at Brantwood Park. The walking paths were paved and well maintained. It was a HOT July day and the sun was strong at the park. There was little to no shade there with the exception of the small bend by the woods, the tree cover by the rear footbridge and some trees after the front footbridge. Pond was a little overgrown with vegetation. I think it was natural, but would liked to have seen it a little less overgrown. We did enjoy the few forms of wildlife that we saw. Park was clean. We didn't see any trash left behind. There were trashcans at the entrance to the park, as well as a dogipot station. Also, the one portable toilet was on location if needed. Playground was really attractive. Would love to visit it again with the children in the future when the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic calms down.
